Intelity Offers New ICE Sapphire
Orlando, Fla. (USA) – June 2, 2013 – With companies like Facebook chiming in about the difference between native apps and HTML5 web apps in regard to user experience, Intelity is releasing a new version of its trademark ICE guest service solution that will delight fans of both.
ICE Sapphire, slated for release on June 14, will be available as a native app for download on iPhone and iPad, as well as all Android smartphones and tablets. It will also be available in HTML5 web app form.
Native apps are known for slightly better, faster performance, but an HTML5 web app version of ICE Sapphire will allow access by hotel guests on multiple devices, including iPhone, iPad, Android smartphones and tablets, TV, and PC. Visual presentation will be slightly different to accommodate each device, but the features and functionality will remain the same. Web apps also do not require download to the device.
“Intelity is the only company in our space that provides the same solution on both native and HTML5-based applications, which provides both universal coverage as well as the highest quality experience,” said Christopher Grey, Intelity’s Chief Technology Officer. “We wanted to ensure that every guest got the full experience intended by the hotel. The focus is on ICE Sapphire and not on which device they view it on.”
ICE Sapphire reworks the classic design of the original ICE solution based on modern design principles with a bolder, more intuitive format. Hotels will be able to pick out custom fonts and color gradients that will perfectly match the property’s overall style.
“User experience was a paramount consideration with this new release,” Grey said. “Hotels are all about creating the right guest experience, and we want this technology to complement their efforts.”
Access to guest services will continue to be direct, quick and convenient. Available services include room service and housekeeping requests, reservation booking at on-site facilities like the hotel spa, and arrangement for transportation. Thanks to more than 35 integrations offered with hotel management systems, requests are instantly communicated by the ICE back-end management system to hotel staff and can be tracked through to fulfillment.
Additional new features include a more commerce-friendly format with restructured, simpler dining menus and full-screen advertisements that allow hotels to market products and services directly to guests.
ICE Sapphire will be on display at the Intelity booth #1037 at HITEC, which will take place in Minneapolis in June. For more information on Intelity, visit www.intelitycorp.com.
