Mark Becker GM for Hyatt Regency Minneapolis

Minneapolis (USA) – October 26, 2012 – Hyatt Regency Minneapolis, 1300 Nicollet Mall, announces the promotion of Mark Becker to General Manager. Becker, a 22-year Hyatt veteran, will oversee operations at the newly renovated Hyatt Regency Minneapolis. As General Manager, Becker is responsible for the overall vision and future direction of the property. He began his career with Hyatt in 1990 as a Housekeeping Supervisor with Hyatt Regency Greenwich. Becker acted as Executive Assistant Manager for Hyatt Grand Champions Resort and Spa at Indian Wells, CA and Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach. While serving as Rooms Executive, he oversaw a $36 million expansion of the Hyatt Grand Champions Resort and developed the first Medical and Skin spa in Hyatt’s portfolio. During his time as a Senior Rooms Executive with Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach, he implemented a recreation department and developed the first ocean front property partnership with Disney. As General Manager of Hyatt Regency Sarasota, Becker was the leading force behind a $20 million transformation which resulted in a 4 Diamond rating.

Becker was named Manager of the Year in 1996, and received the distinguished Hyatt Hotels and Resorts Rooms Executive of the Year in 2004 and 2007. In 2010, he was the Board Chair of the Sarasota Convention and Visitor’s Bureau. He currently serves on the Executive Committee Member for the Sarasota Chamber of Commerce. Becker graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Boston University. He and his wife have 12-year-old twin daughters.
