PATA Foundation EDIT Scholarship Programme Opens
Bangkok (Thailand) – December 16, 2013 – We are pleased to announce that the 2014 EDIT Scholarship Programme is now open for applications. The 36th Executive Development Institute for Tourism (EDIT) programme will take place at the School of Travel Industry Management (TIM), University of Hawaii at Manoa, in Honolulu, Hawaii on May 19-30, 2014.
The PATA Foundation is offering one scholarship for this programme; this is valued at US$5,000 and covers registration, tuition fees, and partial support for accommodation and subsistence expenses.
In addition, one partial Scholarship – to the value of US$3,000 – is also kindly offered by the Jerome A. Keller Memorial Fund.
To be eligible to apply for either scholarship, the requesting organisation must be a PATA member in good standing and the proposed candidate should hold an executive position.
How to Apply:
Candidates must submit the following:
1. A brief essay of 250-words on why you wish to attend the programme, and a brief overview of your future career plans
2. An updated curriculum vitae
3. An official sponsor recommendation letter from your organisation guaranteeing the remainder of the programme costs
4. A completed EDIT application form
Please note that the candidate and/or the candidate’s employer or sponsor must bear the balance of the tuition costs, expenses for travel to and from Hawaii, hotel accommodation and other programme-related expenses.
Please pass this information to prospective applicants for their assessment.
Entry Deadline:
February 15, 2014. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
Notification:
Successful candidates will be notified by March 14, 2014. The decision to grant either full or partial scholarships is at the discretion of the selection committee. Information and applications forms are also available on PATA Foundation website.
