Routes and PATA Enter Preferred Partnership
Las Vegas, Nevada (USA) – October 10, 2013 – Routes (part of UBM Live) and the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) reached a 2 year agreement during the World Routes event in Las Vegas, to collaborate to advance the understanding of the value of airline connectivity for destinations.
This preferred partnership will enable Routes and PATA to collaborate on the development of programmes around both World Routes and Routes’ regional events that will give a clearer focus on the main trade, tourism, and human dimensions of connectivity. These workshops, conferences and other related activities will also identify the key challenges and explore practical ways to unlock the benefits, impacts and opportunities of sustainable aviation growth. The programmes will maintain a strong focus on promoting this type of growth to developing markets generally and the Asia Pacific market specifically.
Mr Gerard Brown, Director of Tourism at Routes said: “We are excited to be partnering with PATA, the leading tourism and travel authority in the Asia Pacific region. Routes have been working alongside the world’s airline, airport and tourism authorities for the past 20 years in order to facilitate air service development and coupled with the route development community’s online medium of choice, Routesonline, Routes is well equipped to add significant value to PATA’s growing members. Thanks to the inclusionary thinking of Martin Craigs, we have had the opportunity to empower our relationship with PATA, whose vision and global coverage closely matches with our own. We are both committed to promoting sustainable aviation and tourism growth.”
Mr Martin J Craigs, PATA CEO said: “Our strategic partnership with Routes will benefit all our members and give Routes invaluable insight and access as it continues its expansion throughout the Asia Pacific visitor economy. PATA will work with Routes to add real value and insights for the benefit of both partners. Air connectivity will continue to be at the forefront of tourism development throughout the Asia Pacific region. Routes events and Routesonline will help PATA members stay at the cutting edge of air service development.”
