Hua Hin (Thailand) – October 10, 2013 – The inaugural Skål Hua Hin & Cha-am Charity Golf Tournament at the Black Mountain Golf Course has been welcomed as a great new annual event. The event was used for fund-raising and more than THB 600,000 or US$ 20,000 were donated. The tournament attracted 100 players and 130 people attended the gala diner at the prestigious Black Mountain Golf Course.
Skål unites leaders in the hospitality industry around the world and promotes worldwide tourism and friendship. Using the motto “to reach out and touch” the golf tournament raised financial recourses for the remote and underprivileged school of Neun Payom in Bueng Nakorn Village in the Prachuab Kirikhan province. The donation enables the school to appoint another teacher for the 48 students. The school will also be able to buy books and learning material as well as a generator to supply electricity.
The golf tournament started exactly at 12:30 pm with a canon shot. Among the 100 golfers were Khun Montien Thongnit, Governor of Petchaburi (Cha-am) and Khun Thanate Soonthronsuk, Police Commander of Prachuapkhirikhan.
In his speech at the inaugural gala dinner, Michael Schmitt, President of Skål Hua Hin & Cha-am, characterized the inaugural tournament as very successful. “The organization and execution of the tournament went smoothly and the fund-raising at the gala diner surpassed our expectations.
