The six-passenger Johanna will be cruising in France from May to September with emphasis on the Champagne, Upper Loire, Burgundy and Somme areas of France.

The Johanna barge offers the freedom of an unescorted bike and barge experience. They offer official maps of the bike-route-network and all possible information on sites to visit. The hosts can prepare a route, or bikers can select their own route the evening before based on the information provided. A prepared list of routes and points of interest will be made available for bikers to take with them.

On the Upper Loire bike and barge cruise, the Johanna is sailing from Briare with its famous canal bridge, and slowly sails up to Nevers, passing along the vineyards of Sancerre and Pouilly. Cycling, delicious wine, small villages, the french way of life, relaxing on board… All the ingredients for a perfect holiday. One week from Briare to Nevers trough the vineyards of Sancerre and Pouilly along the EuroVelo6 cycling route. A beautiful landscape with the wild river Loire and the calm canal latéral through the Val De Loire nature reserve.

The Champagne region bike and barge holiday offers an enchanting journey between history and vineyards, amidst beauty and delightful Champagnes. Visit cathedrals and wine cellars or WWI memorials. Take your time, enjoy your day on the sundeck or cycle along the Marne River and finish your day with a sumptuous dinner on board. From Châteu Thierry via Epernay to Reims.
