Navy Lodge Program Names Award Winners

Norfolk, Va. (USA) – 27 April 2012 – The Navy Lodge Program announced its 2011 award winners during its annual training symposium, held this year in Norfolk, Va. The awards highlight outstanding guest service in a variety of different facets of the Navy Lodge.

“Our managers and associates work hard throughout the year to provide outstanding service to each and every guest that stays at a Navy Lodge,” said Michael Bockelman, Vice President and Director, Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM)’s Navy Lodge Program. “It is great to be able to recognize these outstanding Navy Lodges, general managers and associates with these awards. Congratulations to each for a job well done.”

The Carlson award is given to a Navy Lodge for its achievements in guest satisfaction, associate experience, commitment to quality and focus on providing outstanding value to the Navy. The Navy Lodge of the Year was awarded to Navy Lodge Lemoore, Calif. The other Carlson Award winners were Navy Lodge Port Hueneme, Calif., for the medium category and Navy Lodge Monterey, Calif., for the large category.

The Hospitality Award, presented to the Navy Lodges that are rated the highest by guests in a variety of areas of guest service, was given to Navy Lodge Everett, Wash. Other Hospitality Award winners were Navy Lodge Washington, DC, for the medium category and Navy Lodge Atsugi, Japan, for the large category.

The Navy Lodge PCS Award was given to Brandon Kala and Michelle Wicker, Navy Lodge Yokosuka, Japan, and Janice Baker, Navy Lodge Gulfport, Miss. This award is presented to the Navy Lodges with the highest increase in PCS room nights sold by percentage and number.

Bill Mayhue, Navy Lodge Norfolk, Va., was named Navy Lodge General Manager of the Year. Navy Lodge Marketer of the Year was Joanna Lipinska-Hunt, Navy Lodge Great Lakes, Ill.

The Associate of the Year was awarded to Irene Guerrero, Front Desk Supervisor, Navy Lodge Fort Worth, Texas. Guerrero was chosen for the customer service she provides for her guests that goes above and beyond what is expected of her. She is also the go-to person at the Navy Lodge whenever another associate or guest has a question.

The Outstanding Associate Satisfaction Award, which is presented to the Navy Lodge with the highest Associate Satisfaction Index score, was given to India Austin, Navy Lodge Little Creek-Fort Story, Va. Finalists for this award were Navy Lodge Oceana-Dam Neck, Va., Navy Lodge Everett, Wash., Navy Lodge Key West, Fla., and Navy Lodge Port Hueneme, Calif.
