Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Melaka Celebrates 35 Year Milestone
Melaka (Malaysia) – November 27, 2019 (travelindex.com) – It was an eventful and momentous evening as the hotel management and staff with its owners and board of directors from Melaka Tong Bee (MTB), representatives from Wyndham Singapore Office, a host of dignitaries, valued partners, and associates gathered to celebrate the hotel’s 35th Anniversary cocktail at the Bunga Raya Grand Ballroom.
The Peranakan themed evening cocktail was held in an elegant and joyous affair commencing with the Baba Nyonya opening dance performance. As the guests were ushered into the ballroom, they were treated to a sumptuous cocktail spread specially prepared by our very own kitchen team led by our in-house Chefs.
Commencing with a warm welcome speech by the hotel’s General Manager, Mr. Klaus Sennik who commented “we are proud to be a landmark within our beautiful historical city of Melaka and will continue striving to fulfill the vision of our owners and board of directors to be the hotel of choice and provide hospitality which surpasses our guests’ expectations.”, his opening speech was ensued by a speech from the President and Managing Director of Wyndham Hotels and Resorts South East Asia and Pacific Rim, Mr. Ooi Joon Aun who commended the milestone celebration and encouraged the team to continue seeking opportunities to offer the supreme service to our guest.
The guests were entertained with lively songs and dance performances fitting to the theme of the evening culminating with an enthralling magic and illusions entertainment by award winning magician, Mahdi Moudini who had earlier surprised all the guests during the cake presentation ceremony.
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the 35-year anniversary cake specially designed in the shape of a bakul siah prepared by the pastry chef, Chef Ramiswazila and her team. Holding significance to the local Melaka heritage and flavours, the cake was a replica of the traditional Melaka basket which symbolizes richness and prosperity, fitting and symbolic to our hotel’s rich cultures with a vision to prosper and overflow with only the best service. Yet another symbolic gesture was the presentation of the cake by the staff who represents the melting pot of cultures within the hotel and the years of service which they have dedicated to fulfil the vision of the hotel spanning over 10 – 35 years.
It was a memorable evening as we commemorated 35 years, aging gracefully amidst new opportunities, challenges and emerging competition. What started out as a vision of the owners from MTB has become a full-fledged reality, and now with the strength of the Wyndham Hotel group being the largest hotel chain by numbers, we will continue to be the hotel of choice within the historical city of Melaka.
