Four Seasons Mauritius to Welcome the Year of the Dragon

With Chinese New Year set to welcome the Year of the Dragon, Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita is preparing to mark the occasion with a specialized culinary calendar of Chinese delicacies, prepared by visiting Chef Sam Xu from Four Seasons Hotel Hangzhou at West Lake , who will join the property from January 18 until February 1, 2012.

From adding zest to the Resort’s breakfast menu with a range of Chinese dishes to preparing a daily special for lunch, Chef Sam Xu will also be demonstrating his culinary skills on a live cooking station each night at the beachside and seafood specialty restaurant of Bambou. Specialising in Hangzhouese and Cantonese dishes, Chef Sam Xu will be creating many of his signature dishes, including wok-fried shrimp with longjing tea leaf; “pyramid” pork belly; and coffee rack of lamb.

In addition to the creations of Chef Sam Xu, Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita will welcome in the Chinese New Year with a special Chinese Buffet on Sunday, January 22, 2012. Featuring a Dragon Show and a Lion Dance, along with a martial arts demonstration, the evening promises to be a delicious combination of popular Chinese delicacies and captivating entertainment.

Commenting on his upcoming visit to Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita, Chef Sam Xu says: “Chinese food is well-loved all around the world, but there is no better time to celebrate the distinctive flavours and cooking styles of our cuisine than at Chinese New Year. I’m looking forward to creating some very special dishes at Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita.”
