PATA Travel Mart 2023 to Be Held in New Delhi India
New Delhi, India, March 9, 2023 / TRAVELINDEX / The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) is set to organise PATA Travel Mart 2023 in New Delhi, India from October 4-6. The event will be hosted by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.
The announcement was first made by Mr Arvind Singh, Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India on March 7 at India Night during ITB Berlin.
“After a hiatus of three years due to the pandemic, we are extremely delighted to be organising PATA Travel Mart 2023 in person in India, particularly since the country will be hosting the G20 Summit later this year. India is proving to be an important market in the recovery of travel and tourism within the Asia Pacific region and with its many initiatives in sustainable and inclusive tourism activities, it has the potential to be a preferred tourism destination, loved by both global and domestic tourists,” said PATA Chair Peter Semone. “With its rich culture and beautiful natural landscapes, it is the perfect setting for people to access decision makers, meet new clients, expand their networks, establish new relationships and consolidate existing business partnerships, and I would like to welcome members and non-members to join us at this very special destination.”
One of the oldest civilisations in the world, India is a mosaic of multicultural experiences. With rich heritage and myriad attractions, the country is among the most popular tourist destinations in the world. Fringed by the Great Himalayas in the north, it stretches southwards and at the Tropic of Cancer, tapers off into the Indian Ocean between the Bay of Bengal on the east and the Arabian Sea on the west.
As guests travel across the country, they are greeted by diverse nuances of cuisines, faiths, arts, crafts, music, nature, lands, tribes, history and adventure sports. India has a mesmeric conflation of the old and the new. As the bustling old bazaars rub shoulders with swanky shopping malls, and majestic monuments accompany luxurious heritage hotels, the quintessential traveller can get the best of both worlds. Head to the mountains, enjoy a beach retreat or cruise through the golden Thar, India has options galore for all.
