Boost for Hub City Event in Indonesia
Jakarta (Indonesia) – October 25, 2013 – Ivy Chee, PATA Regional Director – East Asia orchestrated with great support from the PATA Indonesia Chapter a much appreciated and memorable PATA 9th Hub City Forum for over 150 participants in Yogyakarta Indonesia 10-11 October. Indonesia’s Vice Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sapta Nirwandar supported and opened the event. His support was greatly appreciated.
The HCF involved a full day forum with 15 thought provoking international and local speakers. On the 12th field trips were arranged to the world heritage site at Borobudur.
The HCF event was held at the historic, yet timeless Royal Ambarrukmo Hotel in Yogyakarta, with high quality cultural events on the opening and closing evening. The first night featured an elegant al fresco dinner followed by an epic Ramayana ballet by 100 artists with the world famous Prambanan Hindu temple as an illuminated backdrop
The second night opera performance, was uniquely delivered at the Royal Ambarrukmo Palace thanks to the effective imagineering and generous sponsorship of PATA Indonesia Chairman Mr SD Darmono.
Martin Craigs, PATA CEO, said: “It is a pleasure to see how the Hub City Series has evolved to reflect the character and needs of the nine different cities we have delivered them in. The dialogue in Yogyakarta was lively and illuminating. Our major sponsors Visa and TripAdvisor enjoyed the engagement and the grass roots travel agents, airline and hotel marketing participants found it very value adding.”
It was particularly pleasing to have Vice Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sapta Nirwandar enthusiastically supporting the event alongside Garuda Airlines, Director of Global Marketing Eric Meijer, for all presentations here
Mr Craigs continued “Coming immediately after the well delivered APEC summit in Bali , it was pleasing to see PATA delivering both at a macro policy event and a micro business building event” He closed “it seems with team work, PATA next generation can kick with both feet even in the same week ! ”
