Tobs Introduces Mercedes Trophy Golf Series in Kenya

Nairobi (Kenya) – July 31, 2014 – On Friday August 1st Mercedes Benz will be hosting an 18 hole Stableford tournament at Muthaiga Golf Club for owners of Mercedes Benz cars to prepare for participation by Kenya in the worldwide series of MercedesTrophy golf tournaments in 2015. Players will be tackling the challenging Muthaiga course which is in top condition following recent rain.

Every year more than 65,000 players in over 60 countries tee off in the Mercedes Trophy dedicating their game to achieve the perfect drive. In 1989 competitions for amateurs at a national level in Germany were introduced culminating in the Mercedes Challenging Cup event. This developed into the international Mercedes Trophy for owners who experience the passion for perfection when they play golf.

The series begins with tournaments at the local level with successful golfers qualifying for regional finals. These select the participants for the MercedesTrophy World Final which is held in Germany in September.

The finalists enjoy three rounds of tournament golf at an international level and are treated to an attractive programme of additional events. This includes visiting the Mercedes Benz Museum and historic buildings and a Mercedes Benz driving experience.

Golfers in the MercedesTrophy World Final also play for a unique award as “ The Straightest Drive” competition which takes the winner to the United States Open Championship and a chance to participate in the qualification tournament for the ‘” Monday After Event”. This gives golfers the chance to tee off on the historic links course the day after the British Open as a VIP guest of Mercedes Benz.

The competition this Friday, the 1st of August, will be the introduction to the official MercedesTrophy to start in in Africa next year. This high quality event is organized by Tobs Kenya Golf Safaris & Events, Kenya’s 1st specialised golf organization company, since 1991. 112 of the “Who is Who” personalities of Kenya will compete for the 11 attractive Mercedes branded prizes.
