Europeanbarging Launches New River Cruise in Bordeaux Region
Spring, Texas (United states) – February 23, 2015 – Europeanbarging, an ARC accredited company, has launched a new river cruise in the Bordeaux region of France for 2016. Cruise only pricing from $3099 per person and the cruise and land program starts at $4599. The rates include 7 night cruise with excursions, all meals and wine with dinner. Europeanbarging is offering $500 per person discount per person for the following Wine Themed departures: April 8, 15; July 1, 22; August 5, 12 and November 11 and 18. Non-Wine Themed departures receive $250 per person discount. To get the client discount, customers need to book and deposit before July 25th 2015.
Bordeaux is the capital of Aquitaine and also one of the largest undisputed wine capitals in the world. You will discover abundant vineyards, stately chateaux and stunning scenery as you sail along the Dordogne and Garonne rivers and the Gironde estuaries. You will also get to see port cities like Saint Emilion, Libourne and Cadillac.
The Garonne and Dordogne rivers merge together to form the Gironde Estuary – that naturally divides the famous Bordeaux region into Left and Right banks. Bordeaux region-the largest wine region in France. The left and right banks of the river have different soil types that bring these exceptional blends to life. If you like wine themed cruises then the new cruise launched by Europeanbarging is something that you should certainly enjoy.
On the 1st day, you will depart USA to Paris on an overnight flight. You will then be transferred to your hotel on the 2nd day. On the 3rd, you will visit famous sights in Paris in your morning guided tour. On the 4th day, you will board your TGV high speed train to Bordeaux where you board your ship. On the 5th day, you will have a choice of excursions – Sauternes wine region, where you’ll taste the highly sought-after sweet wines made here. As an alternative, you can choose to see the historic Roquetaillade Castle.
The 6th day covers sailing the Garonne River before arriving in Pauillac in the afternoon and enjoying a wine tasting of the Medoc wines. Day 7 will include a visit of the Citadel of Blaye and a walking tour of the charming town of Bourg. On the 8th day, you will take your breakfast on the cruise as you sail towards Libourne where you will visit underground monuments of Saint Emilion village and other tourist attractions as well as a wine tasting.
Day 9’s excursion includes a visit to Bergerac in the Dordogne region or Chateau de Montaigne, a 14th century chateau. Afternoon cruise to Cuzbac where you will enjoy wines from the Cotes de Bourg region. Evening cruise to Bordeaux. On the 10th day, you will be taken on a guided tour of Bordeaux by foot and a wine tasting at the wine museum or you may choose to go on an excursion to the Cognac region. Bordeaux is listed by UNESCO as a world heritage site. On the 11th day, you will transfer from our Bordeaux ship to the amazing Loire Valley and the town of Amboise.
Day 12 will include the Renaissance style Château d’Amboise. Its extravagant residences, gardens, and Gothic chapel belonged to several French kings in the past. You’ll also discover Château du Close Luce, Leonardo da Vinci’s last home. This is where he completed some of his most famous works, like The Mona Lisa, The Virgin and Child with Saint Anne, and the Saint John the Baptist followed by a visit to Chenonceaux. Excursions to Chateau de Chambord and Chateau de Blois on the 13th day before heading back to Paris where you overnight before ending your tour on the 14th day.
