The 17th annual Shekhawati Heritage Festival which is scheduled to be held from 9th February, 2012 to 12th February, 2012 at Nawalgarh. Organized by M.R. Morarka- GDC Rural Research Foundation in association with Rajasthan Tourism board, the four days long cultural extravaganza is an endeavor to promote tourism in Shekhawati region of Rajasthan.

The festival is a wide discovery of Shekhawati culture and is spread over a number of venues in this region which include Nawalgarh, Sikar, Jhunjunu and Churu. Nawalgarh, the main venue of the Shekhawati Festival is home to some of the finest frescoes of the region due to which it is globally recognized as the largest open air art gallery of India.

The events scheduled for this 4 days cultural extravaganza includes camel and jeep safaris, rural games, cultural programs and competitions, fireworks, haveli competition, visit to organic farm, laughter shows and shopping of traditional craft items.
